| hello! I just wanted to ask something about attendance, hope those in the committee can answer me!
Is attendance really complusary? I mean, some people usually skip choir with excuses like piano practices, tuition, family matters and such. For these kind of events, is a parent's letter required? And I thought only one parent's letter is allowed per term.
Thanks (: | |

| hi jingxin, the choir does have a 1 letter ruling, but i am a little more flexible when it comes to issues such as family emergencies. music lessons and tuition stuff should be, as far as possible, arranged such that they do not clash with practices. Only on occasion when there are no alternatives to arrangement, may a member be allowed to miss a practice. I leave the SLs and their judgement call with regards to special cases. I am very against members who abuse this flexibility, and who use such excuses to miss many practices. But in the end, it's the member who will lose out, because your CCA points (INCLUDING your participation points in competitions), are calculated based on attendance. So even if you did participate in SYF when we get a Gwh in 2007, if you skip practices in 2008 it will mean a direct deduction of total points. The system basically rewards consistency. so BE CONSISTENT in attendance. | |

| just thought this would be interesting here...
well.. in my 4 years.. i had plenty of experience of ppl missing practices and stuff.. but the best of all excuses have to be made by Zhao Han..
why are you not there for choir practice? Because yesterday the rain too heavy.
and do the choir still fine for late coming or absenteeism? cos reubs had the record 100+bucks fine.. | |
